Ann Altman Seeks Dismissal Of Sam Altman’s Suit, OpenAI CEO Countersued His Sister For Defamation

In January 2025, Ann Altman filed a civil suit in Missouri against her brother, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, alleging sexual abuse and rape from 1997 to 2006 at their Clayton home, beginning when she was 3 and he was 12. After a judge dismissed expired claims, she amended it under Missouri’s child sexual abuse law.
Sam Altman denied the allegations and countersued for defamation in March 2025. He says the family supported her amid mental health challenges. Ann’s attorneys later withdrew from the case. The case is trending once again because, according to a new update, Ann has recently approached the judge to dismiss Sam’s lawsuit against her.
