Laura Owens’ controversial legal saga has brought renewed attention to an explosive allegation involving her father, legendary Bay Area radio personality Ronn Owens. Years before Laura became embroiled in the widely publicized paternity scandal involving former Bachelor star Clayton Echard, a witness claimed that Ronn privately warned someone close to his daughter that she had “a tendency to exaggerate or even flat out make things up.”
The alleged remark appeared in a sworn court declaration connected to Laura’s long-running legal dispute with her former boyfriend, Michael Marraccini. But Ronn has firmly denied ever making such a statement. As Laura pled guilty in court, Ronn’s alleged warning has resurfaced.

According to the sworn declaration filed in San Francisco County Superior Court, the alleged conversation took place during a December 2016 meeting involving Laura, Marraccini, Ronn and another witness. At the time, Marraccini had reportedly started questioning several of Laura’s claims, including allegations that she was pregnant. Their relationship had become increasingly difficult, while concerns were also raised about Laura’s emotional wellbeing.
